Located in the heart of Kirkwall, the Cathedral is an imposing and striking building. Stepping inside, you will be mesmerised by the architecture, history and beauty of the building which, even after all these years, never fails to amaze. Allow plenty of time for a visit and please buy a guide book at £3, the proceeds of which entirely go to supporting the building through The Society if The Friends of St Magnus Cathedral.

Make sure you book a tour of the upper floors in advance
Entry to the ground floor is free, but they ask for a restoration donation
I enjoyed reading the grave stones in the grounds.
